I started doing dog sports with Tucker in 2021 when we began agility training. I loved it so much that one training day quickly became two. We competed in AKC agility and also tried Rally, Barn Hunt, Fast CAT, and competition obedience.
Tucker helped me learn something important: not every sport is right for every dog, and that is completely okay. He participated because I asked him to, but running together is where we found the fun that truly works for both of us. Today, Tucker gets to enjoy being a dog while we enjoy that time together.
Dog Sports With Moose
Moose, my Miniature American Shepherd, became an incredible teammate. He wants to do everything with me, and agility is where we especially shine together. We compete in AKC, UKI, and ASCA agility, and I hope to explore more organizations with him.
Moose has also earned his DCAT in Fast CAT, earned his first dock diving title, and is one qualifying run away from his first Barn Hunt title. We have taken herding classes together too. In AKC agility, he competes in Masters while we work toward his championship. Rally is another sport I definitely want to try with him.
Always Learning
I enjoy attending seminars and workshops, learning from other trainers and competitors, and discovering more about different dog sports. That firsthand experience shapes every article I write and the way David and I build Happy Dog League.
The tracker grew from a real need to keep titles, Qs, points, and long-term goals organized across dogs, sports, and organizations. My goal is to make that part simpler so dog sport teams can spend more time enjoying the work they do together.
